
Integrating Gender in Development Programming is a one-week strategic practical and hands-on advanced course tailored to equip development practitioners with knowledge and skills for effective and result-oriented development programming in Africa. This course provides the opportunity to focus on specific sectors or policy areas (gender mainstreaming, gender analysis, and gender-based planning) and for participants to employ this knowledge in their workplace through practical orientations and action planning topics.

Learn by doing
Unit 1. Understand gender concepts
Understand the need for incorporating gender consideration into development programs, learn the link between gender and development and then assess your own organization.
Unit 2: Assess Gender Analysis
Analyse gender concerns with the gender analysis lens (for projects such as agriculture, roads, and energy), then learn how to link Gender Analysis to the results-based management cycle of programmes/projects.
Unit 3: Process of Gender Planning
Learn the process of Gender Planning, Formulation and Implementation of a Gender integration framework, and the Use of Gender Statistics in planning.
Unit 4: Understand Gender Mainstreaming
Learn the Tools and Resources for gender mainstreaming: Gender audits, Gender budgeting and age marker and apply them in your development project.
Unit 5-Plan a Gender action plan
Develop a gender action plan that will guide your organisation to become inclusive and resilient.
